How to read Indonesian... | tFOV' song translation sample...

Indonesian song...

Song as device to learn foreign language is debatable. Because the lyric of a song sometimes doesn't strict to the grammar. But since song is easy to our ears, so words are easier to reach our mind when they come from song. I myself learn Japanese from tFOV songs. As I learn the grammar from books, whenever I come to a new grammar, I immediately connect it to a part of tFOV song. In that way, words and grammar will be lot easier to remember. Kanji is also easier to remember when it comes from song's lyric.

It works with English too.

So I think the same way for Indonesian will do.

Lots of bands/artists in Indonesian charts, but some bands/artists I would recommend.

  • Sheila on 7 (シラ on seven)
kinda pop-rock band, the vocal is sometimes close to U-ya's vocal.
    Top recommended song: Sephia

  • Dewa (デワ)
Also pop-rock band... with some strange things added, the vocal is also somewhat strange. Top recommended song: their old songs

  • Jikustik (ジクスチック)
Top recommended song: Maaf (means= sorry)

  • Melly (メリ)
She is a very talented and productive song writer and singer. Lots of good songs came from her (and her husband) hands.
Top recommended song: Jika (means= If) duet with Ari Lasso, Ada apa dengan cinta? (means= what's wrong with love?) duet with Eric.

That's all? Of course not! Indonesian songs are also widely ranged from pop to rock, rap to jazz, or heavy metal to dangdut.
